Our Production Facilities
From rock to fibre
Born at 1500°C
Stone wool is rock, re-engineered. We melt volcanic basalt and spin it into fine mineral fibre. The material keeps the character of stone: it does not burn, does not rot, and holds its shape for decades.
Basalt rock
Volcanic basalt is selected and crushed. The mineral chemistry of the rock is what gives stone wool its fire resistance and long-term stability.
Melted at 1500°C
Furnaces melt the crushed rock at around 1500°C, returning it to the molten state it once had as lava.
Spun into fibre
High-speed spinning wheels draw the melt into fine mineral fibres, which are bound, cured, and pressed into boards at the target density.
